Malik Riaz Hussain lauded in
United Kingdom as Bill Gates of Asia
LONDON: Bahria Town C.E.O Malik Riaz Hussain , has been recognized in the House
of Lords for his “outstanding philanthropic humanitarian services” for Pakistan.
United International Communities Forum (UICF-UK) organised an event here in
honour of Malik Riaz Hussain to commend his charitable work and to show support
for his help of the needy and poor.
UICF Chairman Shahzada Hayat, Labour MP Khalid Mahmood and Lord Qurban Hussain
attended the tribute event and made speeches supporting Malik Riaz ’s positive
contribution for the noble causes in Pakistan. Members of British Pakistani
charity organisations and representatives of many social and political
organisations were also in attendance.
Shahzada Hayat presented the “Service to Humanity Award” to Malik Riaz Hussain
on behalf of the British Pakistani community. Malik Riaz told the audience that
he has not invested a penny outside Pakistan. and all his wealth was in Pakistan
and will always remain there.
He said that he knows about the sufferings of common people more than those rich
people who have never experienced like him what hunger and poverty is. He said
he was born into a house where it was difficult for his parents to make both
ends meet.
Malik Riaz Hussain said that Pakistan had thousands of millionaires who had made
their wealth in Pakistan and “if all of them became socially and morally
responsible towards Pakistan then Pakistan’s almost 70 percent problems would be
over. But thats not the case because the rich class only believes in making
money out of Pakistan and not giving anything back to it”.
He called on the rich people of Pakistan to come forward and play their positive
role to end divide in the society or else there will be chaos and no one will be
spared by the angry masses. Shahzada Hayat, President UICF (UK), said that Malik
Riaz Hussain is the Bill Gates of Asia.
Lord Qurban Husain said that overseas Pakistanis have always supported Pakistan
through remittances and donations but people within Pakistan need to play their
role more effectively and follow the example of Malik Riaz by giving their money
for the social welfare projects aimed at helping the poor people.
