WATER CRISIS
Water is the basic need of every human there was also the time when human lived in caves, time Passed & the world became modern & the different parts of the world converted in different countries & different people ruled the countries so far. Pakistan the country of south Asia the land of resources which currently is facing the crisis of water. Its universal fact that human needs water to be alive. The population of Pakistan is currently 18 billion which is based on 4 provinces. In Pakistan the annual supply of water is near about 114 million acre feet on the surface & 55 million acre feet under the surface from 18 billion populations NINE BILLION EIGHTY LACKS depends on agriculture. From the available water 97% is used for the irrigation which grows up and fulfills the 90% need of Pakistan which took 21% share from the G.D.P of Pakistan instead of that five billion people do not get pure water of drinking & 7 billion 40 lack peoples do not have the filter facility of the water.

During the separation of 1947 no body thought that land of Indus river will have the shortage of water. This problem is not only in Pakistan but it has spread in whole the world.

If we consider it on international level around the world there are near about 245 rivers & canals & the boundaries of those rivers & canals are attached with many countries from which river “GAZATTE WOLKAA” which passes from 18 countries of the world according to the report more then 40% countries are facing the problem of water.

& more then 1 billion peoples are not getting pure Water in above mentioned percentage in which Africa, Sahara, turkey, & western countries are present. According to the research of department international alert of British that in 2020 more then 46 countries will face the serious problem of water.

The general secretary of UNITED NATION (Baan k moon) has declared that if the war will begin in Asia for water it will start from Pakistan & India which will effect other continents of the world too.

In Pakistan there is major problem of water because what ever the crisis are going on in the country are based on water and this core issue has reached at 1500 cubic meter & in 1950 the rate of water & need of water was 500 cubic meter & from this conclusion it seems as if in 2035 Pakistan will be “WATER SCARE” means (where the presence of water will be 1000 cubic meters) (It’s written in the book of Michael kogleeman who is related with widwirdz international institute for scholar)

The shortage of water is increasing day by day in Pakistan its due to following mentioned problems

The unusual uses of water, sim, kallar, & the changing of geography of earth. Because of these the shortage of water is increasing in our country. Michael kogleeman has also described about river Indus that the next coming crisis the dry cities of Sindh will be disturbed. Because the increasing population of the country & the people of Punjab will use the big share of water for agriculture. Another side the glaciers which are melting promptly & in the future the water of glaciers will be finished. World Bank & southern Asia has declared that Pakistan is on 12th number which is facing the crisis of water. & now we have written the history, of Indus River which is mentioned below

Introduction
• The Indus River basin and its drainage network.
Great Trans - Himalayan River of South Asia and one of the longest rivers in the world, having a length of 1,800 miles (2,900 kilometers). It has a total drainage area of about 450,000 square miles (1,165,500 square kilometers), of which 175,000 square miles lie in the Himalayan mountains and foothills and the rest in the semiarid plains of Pakistan. The river's annual flow is about 272 billion cubic yards (207 billion cubic meters)—twice that of the Nile and three times that of the Tigris and Euphrates combined. The river's name comes from the Sanskrit word sindhu (“river” or “stream”). It is mentioned in the Rig-Veda; the earliest (c. 1500 BC) chronicles and hymns of the Aryan peoples of ancient India, and is the source of the country's name.

There are many rivers present in Pakistan lake morrari, tarbeela dam, chashma kanal, jehlam canal, chanab taunsa barrage ,guddu barrage ,pajnad beraj, sukkur barrage, mangla dam.

The politicians are also worried about it if water crises will not finish then the growth of agriculture will be less in country its true that the condition of agriculture is very bad in our country mostly in Sindh. As the lively hood peoples of Sindh is based on the agriculture. & agriculture is decreasing in our country as now days we have the problem of sugar. The major crops of Sindh are Wheat & sugar but unfortunately it’s becoming less just because of shortage of water. We have inquired from a landlord that Why the crisis of sugar is being common in our country???? He said to us that the crops of sugar cane take 16 to 18 months to grow up for this, landlords are not getting as much water as they are required that’s why the crops of sugar cane is becoming less that’s why the sugar crisis are going on.

& another reason of water is that Punjab is saying that he wants more water then other provinces but it is not mentioned in the “Accord of 1991” in 1991 national assembly had passed a bill that all provinces should be given water equally but Punjab is not agree on it. If we want to get rid from this problem the first thing which is important is the consensus between the provinces. The provinces should not be greedy, because if there is no consensus between the provinces of the country how could the country take itself out of this problem.
