MSEB stands for Maharashtra State Electricity Board. The electricity distribution arm is officially called Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). It operates under the brand name Mahavitaran. It supplies electricity to crores of consumers across Maharashtra.

Its official website is mahadiscom.in. All online services, from viewing your bill to raising a complaint, are available there.

How to View Your MSEB Bill Online?

For MSEB bill view, all you need is your 12 digit consumer number (also called BU number). You can find it printed on any previous electricity bill.

  • Open your browser. Go to www.mahadiscom.in.
  • Open the consumer portal.
  • Click View and Pay Bill.
  • Enter your consumer number.
  • Select your consumer type from the dropdown.
  • Type the captcha and submit.
  • View your current MSEB bill.

How to Do MSEB Bill Payment Online?

There are multiple ways to do MSEB bill payment online.

Pay via official MSEB website

  • Check your bill on www.mahadiscom.in (method given above).
  • Click the payment icon right below it.
  • Take a quick look to review your payment details and tick the confirmation checkbox to proceed.
  • Pay Now.
  • Choose how you want to pay
  • Complete the payment.
  • As soon as it goes through, you will receive a confirmation receipt.

Pay via quick bill payment

If you just want to make MSEB bill payment quickly without navigating the Consumer Portal, use the Quick Bill Payment link on the MSEDCL homepage.

  • Enter your consumer number.
  • View the amount and pay directly. No login is required.

MSEB bill payment online via UPI apps

You can also do your MSEB online bill payment through any of these apps:

  • Google Pay
  • PhonePe
  • Paytm
  • Amazon Pay
  • Any BBPS-enabled app (MSEDCL is registered on the Bharat Bill Payment System)

Process:

  • Select Electricity as the bill type.
  • Choose MSEDCL / Mahavitaran as the board
  • Enter your consumer number.
  • Make payment.

These apps also send payment reminders before your due date. It is a great way to avoid late fees.

MSEDCL mobile app

  • Download the MSEDCL mobile app.
  • Register / log in using your consumer number and mobile number
  • Go to Bill Payment in the app.
  • Your bill amount will appear
  • Tap pay now.

How to Do MSEB Bill Pay with Offline Methods?

Prefer to pay in person? No problem. You can also do your MSEB bill pay at these locations:

  • MSEDCL divisional or sub-divisional offices (cash, check, or demand draft)
  • Authorized collection centers and cash collection agents listed on the MSEDCL website
  • Check drop boxes available at MSEDCL offices

Office counters are generally open from 10 AM to 5 PM on working days. Always collect a receipt when paying in person.

How to Do MSEB Bill Download?

From August 2025, MSEDCL made login mandatory for downloading the PDF copy of your electricity bill. This was done for cybersecurity reasons. Here is how to do MSEB bill download:

Register on the MSEDCL consumer portal

  • If you have not registered yet, go to mahadiscom.in.
  • Click Consumer Portal
  • Select Register.
  • Enter your consumer number, mobile number, and email ID. Now create your account.

Download your bill

  • Log in to your account at the portal.
  • Go to Consumer Services > Billing.
  • Click Download Current Bill from the dropdown menu.
  • Your bill will come as a PDF. Click Download to save it to your device
  • You can also access older bills from Bill History in the same section.

How to Register a Complaint with MSEB?

Toll-Free Helpline: Call 1912 or 19120

Missed Call Complaint (For Power Failures): Give a missed call to 022-50897100 from your registered mobile number — a complaint is automatically registered.

SMS Complaint: Send: NOPOWER <12-digit consumer number> to 9930399303

Online: Log in to mahadiscom.in, go to Register Complaint, fill in your details, and submit. You will receive a reference number for tracking.
