حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَلْجٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ الْجُمَحِيِّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ فَصْلُ مَا بَيْنَ الْحَرَامِ وَالْحَلَالِ الدُّفُّ وَالصَّوْتُ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالرُّبَيِّعِ بِنْتِ مُعَوِّذٍ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو بَلْجٍ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ وَيُقَالُ:‏‏‏‏ ابْنُ سُلَيْمٍ أَيْضًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاطِبٍ قَدْ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ غُلَامٌ صَغِيرٌ.

Urdu Translation

محمد بن حاطب جمحی رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”حرام اور حلال ( نکاح ) کے درمیان فرق صرف دف بجانے اور اعلان کرنے کا ہے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- محمد بن حاطب کی حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- محمد بن حاطب نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا ہے، لیکن وہ کم سن بچے تھے، ۳- اس باب میں ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا، جابر اور ربیع بنت معوذ رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

English Translation

Abu Al-Balj narrated from Muhammad bin Hatib Al-Jumahi who said that: The Messenger of Allah said: The distinction between the lawful and the unlawful is the Duff and the voice.
