حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ طَعَامُ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ حَقٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَطَعَامُ يَوْمِ الثَّانِي سُنَّةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَطَعَامُ يَوْمِ الثَّالِثِ سُمْعَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ سَمَّعَ سَمَّعَ اللَّهُ بِهِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ لَا نَعْرِفُهُ مَرْفُوعًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ زِيَادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَزِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ كَثِيرُ الْغَرَائِبِ وَالْمَنَاكِيرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وسَمِعْت مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِسْمَاعِيل يَذْكُرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ:‏‏‏‏ زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مَعَ شَرَفِهِ يَكْذِبُ فِي الْحَدِيثِ.

Urdu Translation

ابن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”پہلے روز کا کھانا حق ہے، دوسرے روز کا کھانا سنت ہے۔ اور تیسرے روز کا کھانا تو محض دکھاوا اور نمائش ہے اور جو ریاکاری کرے گا اللہ اسے اس کی ریاکاری کی سزا دے گا ۲؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابن مسعود کی حدیث کو ہم صرف زیاد بن عبداللہ کی روایت سے مرفوع جانتے ہیں۔ اور زیاد بن عبداللہ بہت زیادہ غریب اور منکر احادیث بیان کرتے ہیں، ۲- میں نے محمد بن اسماعیل بخاری کو سنا کہ وہ محمد بن عقبہ سے نقل کر رہے تھے کہ وکیع کہتے ہیں: زیاد بن عبداللہ اس بات سے بہت بلند ہیں کہ وہ حدیث میں جھوٹ بولیں۔

English Translation

Ibn Mas'ud narrated that : The Messenger of Allah said: Having food on the first day is was is obligatory, and having food on the second day is Sunnah, and having food on the third day is to be heard of, and whoever wants to be heard of, Allah will make him heard of.
