حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَيْدِ الْمِعْرَاضِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا أَصَبْتَ بِحَدِّهِ فَكُلْ،‏‏‏‏ وَمَا أَصَبْتَ بِعَرْضِهِ فَهُوَ وَقِيذٌ ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ.

Urdu Translation

عدی بن حاتم رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بغیر پر کے تیر کے شکار کے متعلق پوچھا تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”جسے تم نے دھار سے مارا ہے اسے کھاؤ اور جسے عرض ( بغیر دھاردار حصہ یعنی چوڑان ) سے مارا ہے تو وہ «وقيذ» ہے ۱؎۔ اس سند سے بھی اسی جیسی حدیث مروی ہے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث صحیح ہے، ۲- اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated 'Adi bin Hatim: I asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about game killed by Mir'ad. So he said: 'What you kill by its sharp edge then eat it, and what you kill by its broad side then, it was killed by something blunt.'
