حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ أَكْلِ الضَّبِّ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا آكُلُهُ وَلَا أُحَرِّمُهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَثَابِتِ بْنِ وَدِيعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَسَنَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدِ اخْتَلَفَ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ فِي أَكْلِ الضَّبِّ فَرَخَّصَ فِيهِ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَغَيْرِهِمْ وَكَرِهَهُ بَعْضُهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُرْوَى عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أُكِلَ الضَّبُّ عَلَى مَائِدَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِنَّمَا تَرَكَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَقَذُّرًا .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ضب ( گوہ ) کھانے کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا؟ تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”میں نہ تو اسے کھاتا ہوں اور نہ حرام کہتا ہوں“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں عمر، ابو سعید خدری، ابن عباس، ثابت بن ودیعہ، جابر اور عبدالرحمٰن بن حسنہ رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- ضب کھانے کے سلسلے میں اہل علم کا اختلاف ہے، بعض اہل علم صحابہ نے رخصت دی ہے، ۴- اور بعض نے اسے مکروہ سمجھا ہے، ابن عباس رضی الله عنہما سے مروی ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے دستر خوان پر ضب کھایا گیا، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے طبعی کراہیت کی بنا پر اسے چھوڑ دیا۔

English Translation

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked about eating a mastigure and he said: 'I do not eat it, and I do not prohibit eating it.' [He said:] There are narrations on this topic from 'Umar, Abu Sa'eed, Ibn 'Abbas, Thabit bin Wadi'ah, Jabir, and 'Abdur-Rahman bin Hasanah. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih The People of knowledge have differed over eating mastigure. Some of the people of knowledge among the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) and others permitted it, while others considered it disliked. It has been related that Ibn 'Abbas said: Mastigure was eaten on the dining spread of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) only avoided it because it was distasteful to him.
