حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ أَسَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمنْعِم صَاحِبُ السِّقَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ لِبِلَالٍ:‏‏‏‏ يَا بِلَالُ إِذَا أَذَّنْتَ فَتَرَسَّلْ فِي أَذَانِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِذَا أَقَمْتَ فَاحْدُرْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاجْعَلْ بَيْنَ أَذَانِكَ وَإِقَامَتِكَ قَدْرَ مَا يَفْرُغُ الْآكِلُ مِنْ أَكْلِهِ وَالشَّارِبُ مِنْ شُرْبِهِ وَالْمُعْتَصِرُ إِذَا دَخَلَ لِقَضَاءِ حَاجَتِهِ وَلَا تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي .

Urdu Translation

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بلال رضی الله عنہ سے فرمایا: ”بلال! جب تم اذان دو تو ٹھہر ٹھہر کر دو اور جب اقامت کہو تو جلدی جلدی کہو، اور اپنی اذان و اقامت کے درمیان اس قدر وقفہ رکھو کہ کھانے پینے والا اپنے کھانے پینے سے اور پاخانہ پیشاب کی حاجت محسوس کرنے والا اپنی حاجت سے فارغ ہو جائے اور اس وقت تک ( اقامت کہنے کے لیے ) کھڑے نہ ہو جب تک کہ مجھے نہ دیکھ لو۔

English Translation

Jabir [bin Abdullah] narrated: Allah's Messenger said to Bilal: O Bilal! When you call the Adhan then do so deliberately and slowly, and when you call the Iqamah then be quick. Allow enough time between your Adhan and Iqamah for the person eating to finish what he is eating, the person drinking to finish what he is drinking, and the one who needs time to relive himself, and do not stand until you see me.
