حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ الْكَعْبِيِّ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الضِّيَافَةُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَائِزَتُهُ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَا أُنْفِقَ عَلَيْهِ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا يَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَثْوِيَ عِنْدَهُ حَتَّى يُحْرِجَهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو شُرَيْحٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ هُوَ الْكَعْبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ الْعَدَوِيُّ اسْمُهُ خُوَيْلِدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَعْنَى قَوْلِهِ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَثْوِي عِنْدَهُ يَعْنِي:‏‏‏‏ الضَّيْفَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا يُقِيمُ عِنْدَهُ حَتَّى يَشْتَدَّ عَلَى صَاحِبِ الْمَنْزِلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْحَرَجُ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ الضِّيقُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّمَا قَوْلُهُ حَتَّى يُحْرِجَهُ يَقُولُ حَتَّى يُضَيِّقَ عَلَيْهِ.

Urdu Translation

ابوشریح کعبی رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ضیافت ( مہمان نوازی ) تین دین تک ہے، اور مہمان کا عطیہ ( یعنی اس کے لیے پرتکلف کھانے کا انتظام کرنا ) ایک دن اور ایک رات تک ہے، اس کے بعد جو کچھ اس پر خرچ کیا جائے گا وہ صدقہ ہے، مہمان کے لیے جائز نہیں کہ میزبان کے پاس ( تین دن کے بعد بھی ) ٹھہرا رہے جس سے اپنے میزبان کو پریشانی و مشقت میں ڈال دے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- مالک بن انس اور لیث بن سعد نے اس حدیث کی روایت سعید مقبری سے کی ہے، ۳- ابوشریح خزاعی کی نسبت الکعبی اور العدوی ہے، اور ان کا نام خویلد بن عمرو ہے، ۴- اس باب میں عائشہ اور ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہما سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۵- «لا يثوي عنده» کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ مہمان گھر والے کے پاس ٹھہرا نہ رہے تاکہ اس پر گراں گزرے، ۶- «الحرج» کا معنی «الضيق» ( تنگی ہے ) اور «حتى يحرجه» کا مطلب ہے «يضيق عليه» یہاں تک کہ وہ اسے پریشانی و مشقت میں ڈال دے۔

English Translation

Abu Shuraih Al-Kabi narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: : Hospitality is for three days, and his reward is a day and a night, and whatever is spent on him after that is charity. And it is not lawful for him (the guest) to stay so long as to cause him harm.
