Baab Khaane Ke Mutaliq Ehkaam O Masail

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ أُعْطِيَ عَطَاءً فَوَجَدَ فَلْيَجْزِ بِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ فَلْيُثْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّ مَنْ أَثْنَى فَقَدْ شَكَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ كَتَمَ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَنْ تَحَلَّى بِمَا لَمْ يُعْطَهُ كَانَ كَلَابِسِ ثَوْبَيْ زُورٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَعْنَى قَوْلِهِ:‏‏‏‏ وَمَنْ كَتَمَ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ كَفَرَ تِلْكَ النِّعْمَةَ.

Urdu Translation

جابر رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جسے کوئی تحفہ دیا جائے پھر اگر اسے میسر ہو تو اس کا بدلہ دے اور جسے میسر نہ ہو تو وہ ( تحفہ دینے والے کی ) تعریف کرے، اس لیے کہ جس نے تعریف کی اس نے اس کا شکریہ ادا کیا اور جس نے نعمت کو چھپا لیا اس نے کفران نعمت کیا، اور جس نے اپنے آپ کو اس چیز سے سنوارا جو وہ نہیں دیا گیا ہے، تو وہ جھوٹ کے دو کپڑے پہننے والے کی طرح ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- اس باب میں اسماء بنت ابوبکر اور عائشہ رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- «ومن كتم فقد كفر» کا معنی یہ ہے: اس نے اس نعمت کی ناشکری کی۔

English Translation

Jabir narrated that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: Whoever is given a gift, then if he finds something let him reciprocate. If he has nothing, then let him mention some praise. For whoever has mentioned some praise, then he has expressed his gratitude. And whoever refrains (from doing so) then he has committed Kufr. And whoever pretends to be satisfied by that which he was not given, he is like the one who wears a garment of falsehood.
