Ali narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: 'A slave (of Allah) shall not believe until he believes in four: The testimony of La Ilaha Illallah, and that I am the Messenger of Allah whom He sent with the Truth, and he believes in the death, and he believes in the Resurrection after death, and he believes in Al-Qadar.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يُؤْمِنُ عَبْدٌ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنَ بِأَرْبَعٍ:‏‏‏‏ يَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ بَعَثَنِي بِالْحَقِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُؤْمِنُ بِالْمَوْتِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبِالْبَعْثِ بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُؤْمِنُ بِالْقَدَرِ .

علی رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کوئی بندہ چار چیزوں پر ایمان لائے بغیر مومن نہیں ہو سکتا: ( ۱ ) گواہی دے کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود برحق نہیں اور میں اللہ کا رسول ہوں، اس نے مجھے حق کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے، ( ۲ ) موت پر ایمان لائے، ( ۳ ) مرنے کے بعد دوبارہ اٹھائے جانے پر ایمان لائے، ( ۴ ) تقدیر پر ایمان لائے“۔
