Ibn Buraidah narrated from his father that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w)said: The people of Paradise are a hundred and twenty rows, eighty of them are from this nation, and forty are from the rest of the nations.

حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الطَّحَّانُ الْكُوفِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ ضِرَارِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ عِشْرُونَ وَمِائَةُ صَفٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثَمَانُونَ مِنْهَا مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ وَأَرْبَعُونَ مِنْ سَائِرِ الْأُمَمِ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُرْسَلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَدِيثُ أَبِي سِنَانٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو سِنَانٍ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ ضِرَارُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو سِنَانٍ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ سَعِيدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ بَصْرِيٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو سِنَانٍ الشَّامِيُّ اسْمُهُ:‏‏‏‏ عِيسَى بْنُ سِنَانٍ هُوَ الْقَسْمَلِيُّ.

بریدہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جنتیوں کی ایک سو بیس صفیں ہوں گی جس میں سے اسّی صفیں اس امت کی اور چالیس دوسری امتوں کی ہو گی“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث «عن علقمة بن مرثد عن سليمان بن بريدة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» کی سند سے مرسلاً مروی ہے، ۳- بعض لوگوں نے سند یوں بیان کی ہے: «عن سليمان بن بريدة عن أبيه»،‏‏‏‏ ۴- ابوسنان کی حدیث جو محارب بن دثار کے واسطہ سے مروی ہے، حسن ہے، ۵- ابوسنان کا نام ضرار بن مرۃ ہے اور ابوسنان شیبانی کا نام سعید بن سنان ہے، یہ بصریٰ ہیں، ۶ - اور ابوسنان شامی کا نام عیسیٰ بن سنان ہے، اور یہ قسم لی ہیں۔
