حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ ؟ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنَّ حَقَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يَعْبُدُوهُ وَلَا يُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَتَدْرِي مَا حَقُّهُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِذَا فَعَلَوْا ذَلِكَ ؟ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْ لَا يُعَذِّبَهُمْ ،‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ.

Urdu Translation

معاذ بن جبل رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کیا تمہیں معلوم ہے کہ بندوں پر اللہ کا حق کیا ہے؟ میں نے کہا: اللہ اور اس کے رسول زیادہ بہتر جانتے ہیں۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ”اس کا حق بندوں پر یہ ہے کہ بندے اس کی عبادت کریں اور اس کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ ٹھہرائیں“۔ ( پھر ) آپ نے کہا: ”کیا تم یہ بھی جانتے ہو کہ جب لوگ ایسا کریں تو اللہ پر ان کا کیا حق ہے؟ میں نے کہا: اللہ اور اس کے رسول بہتر جانتے ہیں“۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ان کا حق اللہ پر یہ ہے کہ وہ انہیں عذاب نہ دے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث متعدد سندوں سے معاذ بن جبل رضی الله عنہ سے مروی ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Mu'adh bin Jabal: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Do you know what Allah's right upon His slaves is? I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: His right upon them is that they worship Him alone and do not associate any partners with Him. He said: And do you know what their right over Allah is if they do that? I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: That He will not punish them.
