Baab Sunnaton Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَقْبِضُ الْعِلْمَ انْتِزَاعًا يَنْتَزِعُهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكِنْ يَقْبِضُ الْعِلْمَ بِقَبْضِ الْعُلَمَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَتَّى إِذَا لَمْ يَتْرُكْ عَالِمًا اتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ رُءُوسًا جُهَّالًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسُئِلُوا فَأَفْتَوْا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ فَضَلُّوا وَأَضَلُّوا ،‏‏‏‏ وفي الباب عن عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَزِيَادِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، وَعَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَ هَذَا.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اللہ تعالیٰ علم اس طرح نہیں اٹھائے گا کہ اسے لوگوں کے سینوں سے کھینچ لے، لیکن وہ علم کو علماء کی وفات کے ذریعہ سے اٹھائے گا، یہاں تک کہ جب وہ کسی عالم کو باقی نہیں رکھے گا تو لوگ اپنا سردار جاہلوں کو بنا لیں گے، ان سے مسئلے پوچھے جائیں گے تو وہ بغیر علم کے فتوے دیں گے، وہ خود گمراہ ہوں گے اور دوسروں کو بھی گمراہ کریں گے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث زہری نے عروہ سے اور عروہ نے عبداللہ بن عمرو سے روایت کی ہے، اور زہری نے ( ایک دوسری سند سے ) عروہ سے اور عروہ نے عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کے واسطہ سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اسی طرح روایت کی ہے، ۳- اس باب میں عائشہ اور زیاد بن لبید سے بھی روایت ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Indeed Allah does not take away knowledge by removing it from the people, but He takes away knowledge by taking the scholars, until there remains no scholar and the people begin to ask the ignorant leaders, so they give their verdict without knowledge. They will go astray and lead the people astray.
