حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبْيَضَ قَدْ شَابَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ يُشْبِهُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَمَرَ لَنَا بِثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ قَلُوصًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَهَبْنَا نَقْبِضُهَا فَأَتَانَا مَوْتُهُ فَلَمْ يُعْطُونَا شَيْئًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا قَامَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِدَةٌ فَلْيَجِئْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَأَمَرَ لَنَا بِهَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَى مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ بِإِسْنَادٍ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏نَحْوَ هَذَا وَقَدْ رَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَانَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ يُشْبِهُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَزِيدُوا عَلَى هَذَا.

Urdu Translation

ابوجحیفہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو گورا چٹا دیکھا، آپ پر بڑھاپا آ چلا تھا حسن بن علی رضی الله عنہما ( شکل و صورت میں ) آپ کے مشابہ تھے۔ آپ نے تیرہ ( ۱۳ ) جوان اونٹنیاں ہم کو عنایت کرنے کے لیے حکم صادر فرمایا، ہم انہیں لینے کے لیے گئے ہی تھے کہ اچانک آپ کے انتقال کی خبر آ گئی، چنانچہ لوگوں نے ہمیں کچھ نہ دیا، پھر جب ابوبکر رضی الله عنہ نے مملکت کی ذمہ داریاں سنبھالیں تو انہوں نے اعلان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے جس کسی کا بھی کوئی عہد و پیمان ہو تو وہ ہمارے پاس آئے ( اور پیش کرے ) چنانچہ میں اٹھ کر ان کے پاس گیا اور انہیں آپ کے حکم سے آگاہ کیا، تو انہوں نے ہمیں ان اونٹنیوں کے دینے کا حکم فرمایا۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- مروان بن معاویہ نے یہ حدیث اپنی سند سے ابوجحیفہ رضی الله عنہ کے واسطے سے اسی طرح روایت کی ہے، ۳- کئی اور لوگوں نے بھی اسماعیل بن ابوخالد کے واسطہ سے ابوجحیفہ سے روایت کی ہے، ( اس روایت میں ہے ) وہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیکھا ہے حسن بن علی رضی الله عنہما آپ کے مشابہ تھے۔ اور انہوں نے اس سے زیادہ اور کچھ نہیں کہا۔

English Translation

Narrated Isma'il bin Abi Khalid: that Abu Juhaifah said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (he was) white and turning grey. Al-Hasan bin 'Ali resembles him most. He had promised thirteen young she-camels for us, so we went to get them. When we arrived he had died without giving us anything. So when Abu Bakr (became the Khalifah) he said: 'If there is anyone to whom the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) made a promise, then let him come forth.' I stood to inform him about it, and he ordered that they be given to us.
