حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّكُمْ تَقْرَءُونَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ لا يَضُرُّكُمْ مَنْ ضَلَّ إِذَا اهْتَدَيْتُمْ سورة المائدة آية 105، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ النَّاسَ إِذَا رَأَوْا ظَالِمًا فَلَمْ يَأْخُذُوا عَلَى يَدَيْهِ أَوْشَكَ أَنْ يَعُمَّهُمُ اللَّهُ بِعِقَابٍ مِنْهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ نَحْوَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ مَرْفُوعًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى بَعْضُهُمْ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَيْسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَوْلَهُ:‏‏‏‏ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعُوهُ.

Urdu Translation

ابوبکر صدیق رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے،   انہوں نے کہا: اے لوگو! تم یہ آیت پڑھتے ہو «يا أيها الذين آمنوا عليكم أنفسكم لا يضركم من ضل إذا اهتديتم» ۱؎ اور میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ کہتے ہوئے سنا بھی ہے کہ جب لوگ ظالم کو ( ظلم کرتے ہوئے ) دیکھیں پھر بھی اس کے ہاتھ پکڑ نہ لیں ( اسے ظلم کرنے سے روک نہ دیں ) تو قریب ہے کہ ان پر اللہ کی طرف سے عمومی عذاب آ جائے ( اور وہ ان سب کو اپنی گرفت میں لے لے ) ۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- کئی ایک نے یہ حدیث اسماعیل بن خالد سے مرفوعاً اسی حدیث کی طرح روایت کی ہے، ۳- بعض لوگوں نے اسے مرفوع نہیں کیا ہے بلکہ ابوبکر رضی الله عنہ کے قول کے طور پر اسماعیل سے، اسماعیل نے قیس سے اور قیس نے ابوبکر سے روایت کی ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Bakr As-Siddiq: O you people! You recite this Ayah: Take care of yourselves! If you follow the guidance no harm shall come to you from those who are astray (5:105). I indeed heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: 'When the people see the wrongdoer, and they do not stop him (from doing wrong), then it is soon that Allah shall envelope you in a punishment from Him.'
