حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ سَلَّامٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّجُودِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ رَبِيعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَدَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرْتُ عِنْدَهُ وَافِدَ عَادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِثْلَ وَافِدِ عَادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ وَمَا وَافِدُ عَادٍ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ عَلَى الْخَبِيرِ سَقَطْتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّ عَادًا لَمَّا أُقْحِطَتْ بَعَثَتْ قَيْلًا فَنَزَلَ عَلَى بَكْرِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَسَقَاهُ الْخَمْرَ وَغَنَّتْهُ الْجَرَادَتَانِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ خَرَجَ يُرِيدُ جِبَالَ مَهْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي لَمْ آتِكَ لِمَرِيضٍ فَأُدَاوِيَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا لِأَسِيرٍ فَأُفَادِيَهُ فَاسْقِ عَبْدَكَ مَا كُنْتَ مُسْقِيَهُ وَاسْقِ مَعَهُ بَكْرَ بْنَ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَشْكُرُ لَهُ الْخَمْرَ الَّتِي سَقَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرُفِعَ لَهُ سَحَابَاتٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقِيلَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ اخْتَرْ إِحْدَاهُنَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَاخْتَارَ السَّوْدَاءَ مِنْهُنَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقِيلَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ خُذْهَا رَمَادًا رِمْدِدًا لَا تَذَرُ مِنْ عَادٍ أَحَدًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَذُكِرَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُرْسَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ الرِّيحِ إِلَّا قَدْرُ هَذِهِ الْحَلْقَةِ يَعْنِي حَلْقَةَ الْخَاتَمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَرَأَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّيحَ الْعَقِيمَ ‏‏‏‏ 41 ‏‏‏‏ مَا تَذَرُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلا جَعَلَتْهُ كَالرَّمِيمِ ‏‏‏‏ 42 ‏‏‏‏ سورة الذاريات آية 41-42 الْآيَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَقَدْ رَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ سَلَّامٍ أَبِي الْمُنْذِرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّجُودِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُقَالُ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ.

Urdu Translation

ابووائل شقیق بن سلمہ کہتے ہیں کہ   قبیلہ بنی ربیعہ کے ایک شخص نے کہا: میں مدینہ آیا اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا، وہاں آپ کے پاس ( دوران گفتگو ) میں نے قوم عاد کے قاصد کا ذکر کیا، اور میں نے کہا: میں اللہ کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں اس بات سے کہ میں عاد کے قاصد جیسابن جاؤں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”عاد کے قاصد کا قصہ کیا ہے؟“ میں نے کہا: ( اچھا ہوا ) آپ نے واقف کار سے پوچھا ( میں آپ کو بتاتا ہوں ) قوم عاد جب قحط سے دوچار ہوئی تو اس نے قیل ( نامی شخص ) کو ( امداد و تعاون حاصل کرنے کے لیے مکہ ) بھیجا، وہ ( آ کر ) بکر بن معاویہ کے پاس ٹھہرا، بکر نے اسے شراب پلائی، اور دو مشہور مغنیاں اسے اپنے نغموں سے محظوظ کرتی رہیں، پھر قیل نے وہاں سے نکل کر مہرہ کے پہاڑوں کا رخ کیا ( مہرہ ایک قبیلہ کے دادا کا نام ہے ) اس نے ( دعا مانگی ) کہا: اے اللہ! میں تیرے پاس کوئی مریض لے کر نہیں آیا کہ اس کا علاج کراؤں، اور نہ کسی قیدی کے لیے آیا اسے آزاد کرا لوں، تو اپنے بندے کو پلا ( یعنی مجھے ) جو تجھے پلانا ہے اور اس کے ساتھ بکر بن معاویہ کو بھی پلا ( اس نے یہ دعا کر کے ) اس شراب کا شکریہ ادا کیا، جو بکر بن معاویہ نے اسے پلائی تھی، ( انجام کار ) اس کے لیے ( آسمان پر ) کئی بدلیاں چھائیں اور اس سے کہا گیا کہ تم ان میں سے کسی ایک کو اپنے لیے چن لو، اس نے ان میں سے کالی رنگ کی بدلی کو پسند کر لیا، کہا گیا: اسے لے لو اپنی ہلاکت و بربادی کی صورت میں، عاد قوم کے کسی فرد کو بھی نہ باقی چھوڑے گی، اور یہ بھی ذکر کیا گیا ہے کہ عاد پر ہوا ( آندھی ) اس حلقہ یعنی انگوٹھی کے حلقہ کے برابر ہی چھوڑی گئی۔ پھر آپ نے آیت «إذ أرسلنا عليهم الريح العقيم ما تذر من شيء أتت عليه إلا جعلته كالرميم» ”یاد کرو اس وقت کو جب ہم نے ان پر بانجھ ہوا بھیجی جس چیز کو بھی وہ ہوا چھو جاتی اسے چورا چورا کر دیتی“ ( الذاریات: ۴۲ ) ، پڑھی ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- اس حدیث کو کئی لوگوں نے سلام ابومنذر سے، سلام نے عاصم بن ابی النجود سے، عاصم نے ابووائل سے اور ابووائل نے ( «عن رجل من ربیعة» کی جگہ ) حارث بن حسان سے روایت کیا ہے۔ ( یہ روایت آگے آ رہی ہے ) ۲- حارث بن حسان کو حارث بن یزید بھی کہا جاتا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Wa'il: from a man of Rabi'ah who said: I arrived in Al-Madinah, entered upon the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and mentioned the emissary of 'Ad to him. I said: 'I seek refuge in Allah from being like the emissary of 'Ad.' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'And what of the emissary of 'Ad?' He said: I said: You have got the one who is informed about it. When 'Ad suffered from famine they sent Qail and he stayed with Bakr bin Mu'awiyah. He gave him wine to drink and two slave girls to sing for him. Then he went out towards the mountains of Murrah and said: O Allah! I did not come to You to cure a sick person, nor to ransom a captive! So give water to Your slave as You used to do, and give water to Bakr bin Mu'awiyah along with him. He said that out of gratitude for the wine which he gave him to drink. So two clouds appeared and it was said to him: Choose one of them. So he chose the black one. It was said to him: Take it as ashes that will leave none in 'Ad. So he mentioned that the wind sent upon them was not more than this circle - meaning the circle of a ring - then he recited: ...We sent against them the barren wind; it spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. (51:41 & 42)
