حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَنَابٍ الْكَلْبِيُّ، عَنْ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ يُبَلِّغُهُ حَجَّ بَيْتِ رَبِّهِ أَوْ تَجِبُ عَلَيْهِ فِيهِ الزَّكَاةُ فَلَمْ يَفْعَلْ سَأَلَ الرَّجْعَةَ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ:‏‏‏‏ يَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اتَّقِ اللَّهَ إِنَّمَا سَأَلَ الرَّجْعَةَ الْكُفَّارُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَأَتْلُو عَلَيْكَ بِذَلِكَ قُرْآنًا:‏‏‏‏ يَأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلا أَوْلادُكُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ ‏‏‏‏ 9 ‏‏‏‏ وَأَنْفِقُوا مِنْ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ وَاللَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ سورة المنافقون آية 8 ـ 11 قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَمَا يُوجِبُ الزَّكَاةَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا بَلَغَ الْمَالُ مِائَتَيْ دِرْهَمٍ فَصَاعِدًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَمَا يُوجِبُ الْحَجَّ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الزَّادُ وَالْبَعِيرُ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ جس کے پاس اتنا مال ہو کہ وہ حج بیت اللہ کو جا سکے یا اس پر اس میں زکاۃ واجب ہوتی ہو اور وہ حج کو نہ جائے، زکاۃ ادا نہ کرے تو وہ مرتے وقت اللہ سے درخواست کرے گا کہ اسے وہ دنیا میں دوبارہ لوٹا دے، ایک شخص نے کہا: ابن عباس! اللہ سے ڈرو، دوبارہ لوٹا دیئے جانے کی آرزو تو کفار کریں گے ( نہ کہ مسلمین ) ابن عباس رضی الله عنہما نے کہا: میں تمہیں اس کے متعلق قرآن پڑھ کر سناتا ہوں، اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا «يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا تلهكم أموالكم ولا أولادكم عن ذكر الله ومن يفعل ذلك فأولئك هم الخاسرون وأنفقوا من ما رزقناكم من قبل أن يأتي أحدكم الموت» سے «والله خبير بما تعملون» ”اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو! تمہارا مال اور تمہاری اولاد تمہیں اللہ کی یاد سے غافل نہ کر دیں، اور جس نے ایسا کیا وہی لوگ ہیں خسارہ اٹھانے والے ہوں گے، اور جو روزی ہم نے تمہیں دی ہے اس میں سے خرچ کرو اس سے پہلے کہ تم میں سے کسی کو موت آئے اور وہ کہنے لگے کہ اے میرے رب! کیوں نہ تھوڑی سی مہلت اور دے دی کہ میں صدقہ دے لیتا، اور نیک لوگوں میں سے ہو جاتا اور جب کسی کا مقررہ وقت آ جاتا ہے پھر اسے اللہ تعالیٰ ہرگز مہلت نہیں دیتا اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اللہ کو سب معلوم ہے“ ( المنافقین: ۹-۱۱ ) ، تک۔ اس نے پوچھا: کتنے مال میں زکاۃ واجب ہو جاتی ہے؟ ابن عباس رضی الله عنہما نے کہا: جب مال دو سو درہم ۱؎ ہو جائے یا زیادہ، پھر پوچھا: حج کب واجب ہوتا ہے؟ کہا: جب توشہ اور سواری کا انتظام ہو جائے۔

English Translation

Ad-Dahhak bin Muzahim narrated: From Ibn Abbas [may Allah be pleased with him] who said: “Whoever has wealth, required him to perform Hajj to the House of his Lord, or upon which Zakat is obligatory, but he does not do it, then he shall ask to return (the world) upon his death.” A man said: “Oh Ibn Abbas! Have Taqwa of Allah! It is only the disbelievers who will be asked to return.” He said: “For that, I shall recite to you from the Qur’an: You who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whosever does that, then they are with the losers. And spend of that which We have provided you before death comes to one of you, and says: “My Lord! If only You would give me respite for a little while, then I should give Sadaqah” up to His saying: “And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.” He said: “So what makes Zakat obligatory?” He said: “When wealth reaches two hundred or above.” He said: “What makes Hajj obligatory?” He said: “Provisions and a camel.”
