حَدَّثَنَا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ الْيَمَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ إِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ مِنْ جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ قَيَّامُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْتَ الْحَقُّ وَوَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ وَلِقَاؤُكَ حَقٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ وَالسَّاعَةُ حَقٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِلَيْكَ حَاكَمْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْتَ إِلَهِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب رات میں تہجد کے لیے اٹھتے تو یہ دعا پڑھتے: «اللهم لك الحمد أنت نور السموات والأرض ولك الحمد أنت قيام السموات والأرض ولك الحمد أنت رب السموات والأرض ومن فيهن أنت الحق ووعدك الحق ولقاؤك حق والجنة حق والنار حق والساعة حق اللهم لك أسلمت وبك آمنت وعليك توكلت وإليك أنبت وبك خاصمت وإليك حاكمت فاغفر لي ما قدمت وما أخرت وما أسررت وما أعلنت أنت إلهي لا إله إلا أنت» ”اے اللہ! تیرے ہی لیے سب تعریف ہے تو ہی آسمانوں اور زمین کا نور ہے، ( اور آسمان و زمین کے درمیان روشنی پیدا کرنے والا ) تیرے ہی لیے سب تعریف ہے تو ہی آسمانوں اور زمین کو قائم کرنے والا ہے، تیرے لیے ہی سب تعریف ہے تو آسمانوں اور زمین کا اور جو کچھ ان دونوں کے درمیان ہے سب کا رب ہے، تو حق ہے تیرا وعدہ حق ( سچا ) ہے تیری ملاقات حق ہے، جنت حق ہے جہنم حق ہے، قیامت حق ہے۔ اے اللہ! میں نے اپنے کو تیرے سپرد کر دیا، اور تجھ ہی پر ایمان لایا، اور تجھ ہی پر بھروسہ کیا، اور تیری ہی طرف رجوع کیا، اور تیرے ہی خاطر میں لڑا اور تیرے ہی پاس فیصلہ کے لیے گیا۔ اے اللہ! میں پہلے جو کچھ کر چکا ہوں اور جو کچھ بعد میں کروں گا اور جو پوشیدہ کروں اور جو کھلے عام کروں میرے سارے گناہ اور لغزشیں معاف کر دے، تو ہی میرا معبود ہے، اور تیرے سوا میرا کوئی معبود برحق نہیں ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث کئی سندوں سے ابن عباس رضی الله عنہما سے آئی ہے، اور وہ اسے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں۔

English Translation

`Abdullah bin `Abbas [may Allah be pleased with them] narrated, : that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would stand for prayer during the middle of the night, he would say: “O Allah, to You is the Praise, You are the Light of the heavens and the earth, and to You is the Praise, You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth, and to You is the praise, You are the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and those in them, You are the truth, and Your Promise is the truth, and Your meeting is true, and Paradise is true, and the Fire is true, and the Hour is true, O Allah, to You have I submitted, and in You have I believed , and in You have I relied, and to You have I turned, and by You have I argued, and to You have I referred for judgment. So forgive me what I have done before and after, and that which I have hidden and that which I have done openly. You are my Deity, no has the right to be worshiped but You (Allāhumma lakal-ḥamd, anta nūrus-samāwāti wal-arḍ, wa lakal-ḥamd, anta qayyāmus-samāwāti wal-arḍ, wa lakal-ḥamd, anta rabbus-samāwāti wal-arḍ, wa man fīhinn, antal-ḥaqq, wa wa`dukal-ḥaqq, wa liqā'uka ḥaqq, wal-jannatu ḥaqq, wan-nāru ḥaqq, was-sā`atu ḥaqq. Allāhumma laka aslamtu, wa bika āmantu, wa `alaika tawakkaltu, wa ilaika anabtu, wa bika khāṣamtu, wa ilaika ḥākamtu, faghfirlī mā qaddamtu wa mā akhartu, wa mā asrartu wa mā a`lant. Anta ilāhī lā ilāha illā ant).”
