Salman Al-Farsi narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Indeed, Allah, is Hayy, Generous, when a man raises his hands to Him, He feels too shy to return them to him empty and rejected.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ صَاحِبُ الْأَنْمَاطِ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَيِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ يَسْتَحْيِي إِذَا رَفَعَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَيْهِ يَدَيْهِ أَنْ يَرُدَّهُمَا صِفْرًا خَائِبَتَيْنِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَاهُ بَعْضُهُمْ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ.

سلمان فارسی رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اللہ «حيي كريم» ہے یعنی زندہ و موجود ہے اور شریف ہے اسے اس بات سے شرم آتی ہے کہ جب کوئی آدمی اس کے سامنے ہاتھ پھیلا دے تو وہ اس کے دونوں ہاتھوں کو خالی اور ناکام و نامراد واپس کر دے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، بعض دوسروں نے بھی یہ حدیث روایت کی ہے، لیکن انہوں نے اسے مرفوع نہیں کیا ہے۔
