حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُهُ يَخْطُبُ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَعُمَرُ وَأَنَا ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

Urdu Translation

جریر بن عبداللہ رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے معاویہ رضی الله عنہ کو خطبہ دیتے ہوئے سنا وہ کہہ رہے تھے: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی وفات ہوئی تو آپ ترسٹھ سال کے تھے اور ابوبکر اور عمر رضی الله عنہما بھی ترسٹھ سال کے تھے اور میں بھی ( اس وقت ) ترسٹھ سال کا ہوں۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Jabir [bin 'Abdullah]: that he heard Mu'awiyah bin Abi Sufyan giving a Khutbah, saying: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) died when he was sixty-three years old, and so did Abu Bakr and 'Umar, and I am sixty-three years old.
