حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ، عَنْ نَابِلٍ صَاحِبِ الْعَبَاءِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَرَرْتُ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرَدَّ إِلَيَّ إِشَارَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا أَعْلَمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِشَارَةً بِإِصْبَعِهِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ بِلَالٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَنَسٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَعَائِشَةَ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   صہیب رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں: میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس سے گزرا اور آپ نماز پڑھ رہے تھے، میں نے سلام کیا تو آپ نے مجھے اشارے سے جواب دیا، راوی ( ابن عمر ) کہتے ہیں کہ میرا یہی خیال ہے کہ صہیب نے کہا: آپ نے اپنی انگلی کے اشارے سے جواب دیا ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- صہیب کی حدیث حسن ہے ۲؎، ۲- اس باب میں بلال، ابوہریرہ، انس، ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

English Translation

Suhaib narrated: I passed by Allah's Messenger (S) while he was performing Salat, so I said greeted him with Salam, and he returned it by making signals. He said: I do not know except that he said: 'He indicated with his finger.'
