حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنِ الْأَجْلَحِ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلِيًّا يَوْمَ الطَّائِفِ فَانْتَجَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّاسُ:‏‏‏‏ لَقَدْ طَالَ نَجْوَاهُ مَعَ ابْنِ عَمِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا انْتَجَيْتُهُ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ انْتَجَاهُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ الْأَجْلَحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ غَيْرُ ابْنِ فُضَيْلٍ أَيْضًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْأَجْلَحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَعْنَى قَوْلِهِ:‏‏‏‏ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ انتجاه يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَنْتَجِيَ مَعَهُ.

Urdu Translation

جابر رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے غزوہ طائف کے دن علی رضی الله عنہ کو بلایا اور ان سے سرگوشی کے انداز میں کچھ باتیں کیں، لوگ کہنے لگے: آپ نے اپنے چچا زاد بھائی کے ساتھ بڑی دیر تک سرگوشی کی ہے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”میں نے ان سے سرگوشی نہیں کی ہے بلکہ اللہ نے ان سے سرگوشی کی ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف اجلح کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں، اور اسے ابن فضیل کے علاوہ دوسرے راویوں نے بھی اجلح سے روایت کیا ہے، ۲- آپ کے قول ”بلکہ اللہ نے ان سے سرگوشی کی ہے“ کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ اللہ نے مجھے ان کے ساتھ سرگوشی کا حکم دیا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Jabir: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called 'Ali on the Day (of the battle) of At-Ta'if, and spoke privately with him, so the people said: 'His private conversation with his cousin has grown lengthy.' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'I did not speak privately with him, rather Allah spoke privately with him.'
