حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ زِرَّ بْنَ حُبَيْشٍ يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِ لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فَقَرَأَ فِيهَا:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ ذَاتَ الدِّينِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الْحَنِيفِيَّةُ الْمُسْلِمَةُ لَا الْيَهُودِيَّةُ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَا النَّصْرَانِيَّةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَنْ يَعْمَلْ خَيْرًا فَلَنْ يُكْفَرَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِ:‏‏‏‏ وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيًا مِنْ مَالٍ لَابْتَغَى إِلَيْهِ ثَانِيًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَوْ كَانَ لَهُ ثَانِيًا لَابْتَغَى إِلَيْهِ ثَالِثًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ . وَقَدْ رَوَى قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأُبَيٍّ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ .

Urdu Translation

ابی بن کعب رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: ”اللہ نے مجھے حکم دیا ہے کہ میں تمہیں پڑھ کر سناؤں“، پھر آپ نے انہیں «لم يكن الذين كفروا من أهل الكتاب» پڑھ کر سنایا، اور اس میں یہ بھی پڑھا ۱؎ «إن ذات الدين عند الله الحنيفية المسلمة لا اليهودية ولا النصرانية من يعمل خيرا فلن يكفره» ”بیشک دین والی ۲؎ اللہ کے نزدیک تمام ادیان و ملل سے رشتہ کاٹ کر اللہ کی جانب یکسو ہو جانے والی مسلمان عورت ہے نہ کہ یہودی اور نصرانی عورت جو کوئی نیکی کا کام کرے تو وہ ہرگز اس کی ناقدری نہ کرے“، اور آپ نے ان کے سامنے یہ بھی پڑھا: ۳؎ «ولو أن لابن آدم واديا من مال لابتغى إليه ثانيا ولو كان له ثانيا لابتغى إليه ثالثا ولا يملأ جوف ابن آدم إلا التراب ويتوب الله على من تاب» ”اگر ابن آدم کے پاس مال کی ایک وادی ہو تو وہ دوسری وادی کی خواہش کرے گا اور اگر اسے دوسری بھی مل جائے تو وہ تیسری چاہے گا، اور آدم زادہ کا پیٹ صرف خاک ہی بھر سکے گی ۴؎، اور جو توبہ کرے تو اللہ اس کی توبہ قبول فرماتا ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث اس سند کے علاوہ دوسری سند سے بھی آئی ہے، ۳- اسے عبداللہ بن عبدالرحمٰن بن ابزی نے اپنے والد عبدالرحمٰن بن ابزی سے اور انہوں نے ابی بن کعب سے روایت کیا ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابی بن کعب سے فرمایا: ”اللہ نے مجھے حکم دیا ہے کہ میں تمہارے سامنے قرآن پڑھوں“، ۴- قتادہ نے انس سے روایت کیا ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابی بن کعب رضی الله عنہ سے فرمایا کہ ”اللہ نے مجھے حکم دیا ہے کہ میں تمہارے سامنے قرآن پڑھوں“۔

English Translation

Narrated Ubayy bin Ka'b: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: Indeed, Allah ordered me to recite to you, so he recited in it: Those who disbelieve from amongst the Book were not going to...' (And he) also recited in it, Indeed, the religion with Allah is Al-Hanafiyyah, the Muslim, not Judaism, nor Christianity, whoever does good, it shall not be rejected from him. And he recited to him: And if the son of Adam had a valley-full of wealth, he would seek a second, and if he had a second, he would seek a third, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except for dirt. And Allah pardons those who repent.
