حَدَّثَنَا الْجَرَّاحُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ، وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الرُّومِيِّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي جَبَلَةُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ أَخُو زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ابْعَثْ مَعِي أَخِي زَيْدًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ ذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنِ انْطَلَقَ مَعَكَ لَمْ أَمْنَعْهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ زَيْدٌ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ وَاللَّهِ لَا أَخْتَارُ عَلَيْكَ أَحَدًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَرَأَيْتُ رَأْيَ أَخِي أَفْضَلَ مِنْ رَأْيِي. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ الرُّومِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ.

Urdu Translation

زید بن حارثہ رضی الله عنہ کے بھائی جبلہ بن حارثہ رضی الله عنہ کا بیان ہے کہ   میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! میرے بھائی زید کو میرے ساتھ بھیج دیجئیے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”وہ موجود ہیں اگر تمہارے ساتھ جانا چاہ رہے ہیں تو میں انہیں نہیں روکوں گا“، یہ سن کر زید نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! قسم اللہ کی! میں آپ کے مقابلہ میں کسی اور کو اختیار نہیں کر سکتا، جبلہ کہتے ہیں: تو میں نے دیکھا کہ میرے بھائی کی رائے میری رائے سے افضل تھی۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف ابن رومی کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں، جسے وہ علی بن مسہر سے روایت کرتے ہیں۔

English Translation

Narrated Jabalah bin Harithah, the brother of Zaid: I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, send my brother Zaid with me.' He said: 'Here he is.' He said: 'If he goes with you, I will not prevent him.' Zaid said: 'O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, I will not choose anyone over you.' He said: So I considered the view of my brother to be better than my own view.
