حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ ذَكْوَانَ أَبَا صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا تَسُبُّوا أَصْحَابِي،‏‏‏‏ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ أَنْفَقَ مِثْلَ أُحُدٍ ذَهَبًا مَا أَدْرَكَ مُدَّ أَحَدِهِمْ وَلَا نَصِيفَهُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَعْنَى قَوْلِهِ:‏‏‏‏ نَصِيفَهُ يَعْنِي نِصْفَ الْمُدِ.

Urdu Translation

ابو سعید خدری رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”میرے صحابہ کو برا بھلا نہ کہو، قسم ہے اس ذات کی جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے، اگر تم میں سے کوئی احد پہاڑ کے برابر بھی سونا خرچ کرے تو ان کے ایک مد بلکہ آدھے مد کے ( اجر کے ) برابر بھی نہیں پہنچ سکے گا“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- آپ کے قول «نصيفه» سے مراد نصف ( آدھا ) مد ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Do not abuse my Companions, for by the One in Whose Hand is my soul! If one of you were to spend gold the life of Uhud, it would not equal a Mudd - nor half of it - of one of them.
