Narrated Ibn 'Umar: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever is able to die in Al-Madinah, then let him die there, for I will intercede for those who die there.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ أَنْ يَمُوتَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَلْيَمُتْ بِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنِّي أَشْفَعُ لِمَنْ يَمُوتُ بِهَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ سُبَيْعَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ الْأَسْلَمِيَّةِ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جو مدینہ میں مر سکتا ہو تو اسے چاہیئے کہ وہیں مرے کیونکہ جو وہاں مرے گا میں اس کے حق میں سفارش کروں گا“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث اس سند سے یعنی ایوب سختیانی کی روایت سے حسن صحیح غریب ہے، ۲- اس باب میں سبیعہ بنت حارث اسلمیہ سے بھی روایت ہے۔
