حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالرُّبَيِّعِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي أُمَامَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي رَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْروٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمُعَاوِيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عَلِيٍّ أَحْسَنُ شَيْءٍ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ وَأَصَحُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لِأَنَّهُ قَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ عَامَّةِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ أَنَّ الْوُضُوءَ يُجْزِئُ مَرَّةً مَرَّةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَرَّتَيْنِ أَفْضَلُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَفْضَلُهُ ثَلَاثٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَيْسَ بَعْدَهُ شَيْءٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وقَالَ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ:‏‏‏‏ لَا آمَنُ إِذَا زَادَ فِي الْوُضُوءِ عَلَى الثَّلَاثِ أَنْ يَأْثَمَ،‏‏‏‏ وقَالَ أَحْمَدُ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِسْحَاق:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَزِيدُ عَلَى الثَّلَاثِ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ مُبْتَلًى.

Urdu Translation

علی رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم نے اعضائے وضو تین تین بار دھوئے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- اس باب میں عثمان، عائشہ، ربیع، ابن عمر، ابوامامہ، ابورافع، عبداللہ بن عمرو، معاویہ، ابوہریرہ، جابر، عبداللہ بن زید اور ابی بن کعب رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۲- علی رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث اس باب میں سب سے عمدہ اور صحیح ہے کیونکہ یہ علی رضی الله عنہ سے اور بھی سندوں سے مروی ہے، ۳- اہل علم کا اس پر عمل ہے کہ اعضائے وضو کو ایک ایک بار دھونا کافی ہے، دو دو بار افضل ہے اور اس سے بھی زیادہ افضل تین تین بار دھونا ہے، اس سے آگے کی گنجائش نہیں، ابن مبارک کہتے ہیں: جب کوئی اعضائے وضو کو تین بار سے زیادہ دھوئے تو مجھے اس کے گناہ میں پڑنے کا خطرہ ہے، امام احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ کہتے ہیں: تین سے زائد بار اعضائے وضو کو وہی دھوئے گا جو ( دیوانگی اور وسوسہ ) میں مبتلا ہو گا ۱؎۔

English Translation

Ali narrated that: The Prophet performed Wudu three times (for each limb).
