حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ كَانَ يُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَغْرِبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ إِلَى قَوْمِهِ فَيَؤُمُّهُمْ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَصْحَابِنَا الشَّافِعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَحْمَدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا أَمَّ الرَّجُلُ الْقَوْمَ فِي الْمَكْتُوبَةِ وَقَدْ كَانَ صَلَّاهَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ أَنَّ صَلَاةَ مَنِ ائْتَمَّ بِهِ جَائِزَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاحْتَجُّوا بِحَدِيثِ جَابِرٍ فِي قِصَّةِ مُعَاذٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرُوِي عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَالْقَوْمُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَهُوَ يَحْسِبُ أَنَّهَا صَلَاةُ الظُّهْرِ فَائْتَمَّ بِهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ صَلَاتُهُ جَائِزَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ قَالَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا ائْتَمَّ قَوْمٌ بِإِمَامٍ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَهُمْ يَحْسِبُونَ أَنَّهَا الظُّهْرُ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ وَاقْتَدَوْا بِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّ صَلَاةَ الْمُقْتَدِي فَاسِدَةٌ إِذْ اخْتَلَفَ نِيَّةُ الْإِمَامِ وَنِيَّةُ الْمَأْمُومِ.

Urdu Translation

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ   معاذ بن جبل رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ مغرب پڑھتے تھے، پھر اپنی قوم کے لوگوں میں لوٹ کر آتے اور ان کی امامت کرتے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- ہمارے اصحاب یعنی شافعی احمد اور اسحاق کا اسی پر عمل ہے۔ یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ جب آدمی فرض نماز میں اپنی قوم کی امامت کرے اور وہ اس سے پہلے یہ نماز پڑھ چکا ہو تو جن لوگوں نے اس کی اقتداء کی ہے ان کی نماز درست ہے۔ ان لوگوں نے معاذ رضی الله عنہ کے قصے سے جو جابر رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث میں ہے اس سے دلیل پکڑی ہے، ۳- ابوالدرداء رضی الله عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ان سے ایک ایسے شخص کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا جو مسجد میں داخل ہوا اور لوگ نماز عصر میں مشغول تھے اور وہ سمجھ رہا تھا کہ ظہر ہے تو اس نے ان کی اقتداء کر لی، تو ابو الدرداء نے کہا: اس کی نماز جائز ہے، ۴- اہل کوفہ کی ایک جماعت کا کہنا ہے کہ جب کچھ لوگ کسی امام کی اقتداء کریں اور وہ عصر پڑھ رہا ہو اور لوگ سمجھ رہے ہوں کہ وہ ظہر پڑھ رہا ہے اور وہ انہیں نماز پڑھا دے اور لوگ اس کی اقتداء میں نماز پڑھ لیں تو مقتدی کی نماز فاسد ہے کیونکہ کہ امام کی نیت اور مقتدی کی نیت مختلف ہو گئی ۱؎۔

English Translation

Jabir bin Abdullah narrated: 'Mu'adh bin Jabal would pray Al-Maghrib with the Messenger of Allah, then he would return to his people to lead them (in prayer).
