حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا كَانَ عَامُ الْفَتْحِ صَلَّى الصَّلَوَاتِ كُلَّهَا بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّكَ فَعَلْتَ شَيْئًا لَمْ تَكُنْ فَعَلْتَهُ. قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَمْدًا فَعَلْتُهُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ قَادِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَزَادَ فِيهِ:‏‏‏‏ تَوَضَّأَ مَرَّةً مَرَّةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَى سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ أَيْضًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَاهُ وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَارِبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ وَغَيْرُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُرْسَلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَذَا أَصَحُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ وَكِيعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ يُصَلِّي الصَّلَوَاتِ بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ بَعْضُهُمْ يَتَوَضَّأُ لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اسْتِحْبَابًا وَإِرَادَةَ الْفَضْلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُرْوَى عَنْ الْأَفْرِيقِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي غُطَيْفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ عَلَى طُهْرٍ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهِ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ ،‏‏‏‏ وَهَذَا إِسْنَادٌ ضَعِيفٌ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ.

Urdu Translation

بریدہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم ہر نماز کے لیے وضو کرتے تھے، اور جب فتح مکہ کا سال ہوا تو آپ نے کئی نمازیں ایک وضو سے ادا کیں اور اپنے موزوں پر مسح کیا، عمر رضی الله عنہ نے عرض کیا کہ آپ نے ایک ایسی چیز کی ہے جسے کبھی نہیں کیا تھا؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”میں نے اسے جان بوجھ کر کیا ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اور اس حدیث کو علی بن قادم نے بھی سفیان ثوری سے روایت کیا ہے اور انہوں نے اس میں اتنا اضافہ کیا ہے کہ ”آپ نے اعضائے وضو کو ایک ایک بار دھویا“، ۳- سفیان ثوری نے بسند «محارب بن دثار عن سلیمان بن بریدہ» ( مرسلاً روایت کیا ہے ) کہ ”نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم ہر نماز کے لیے وضو کرتے تھے“، ۴- اور اسے وکیع نے بسند «سفیان عن محارب عن سلیمان بن بریدہ عن بریدہ» سے روایت کیا ہے، ۵- نیز اسے عبدالرحمٰن بن مھدی وغیرہ نے بسند «سفیان عن محارب بن دثار عن سلیمان بن بریدہ» مرسلاً روایت کیا ہے، اور یہ روایت وکیع کی روایت سے زیادہ صحیح ہے ۱؎، ۶- اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے کہ ایک وضو سے کئی نمازیں ادا کی جا سکتی ہیں، جب تک «حدث» نہ ہو، ۷- بعض اہل علم استحباب اور فضیلت کے ارادہ سے ہر نماز کے لیے وضو کرتے تھے، ۸- نیز عبدالرحمٰن افریقی نے بسند «ابی غطیفعن ابن عمر» روایت کی ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جو وضو پر وضو کرے گا تو اس کی وجہ سے اللہ اس کے لیے دس نیکیاں لکھے گا“ اس حدیث کی سند ضعیف ہے، ۹- اس باب میں جابر بن عبداللہ سے بھی روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم نے ایک وضو سے ظہر اور عصر دونوں پڑھیں۔

English Translation

Sulaiman bin Buraidah narrated that his father said: The Prophet would perform Wudu for every Salat. So during the year of the Conquest, he performed all of the prayers with one Wudu, and he wiped over his Khuff. So Umar said, 'You did something that you have not done before?' He replied: I did it on purpose.
