حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَصُومُ أَحَدُكُمْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَصُومَ قَبْلَهُ أَوْ يَصُومَ بَعْدَهُ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجُنَادَةَ الْأَزْدِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجُوَيْرِيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ يَكْرَهُونَ لِلرَّجُلِ أَنْ يَخْتَصَّ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ بِصِيَامٍ لَا يَصُومُ قَبْلَهُ وَلَا بَعْدَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبِهِ يَقُولُ أَحْمَدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِسْحَاق.

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تم میں سے کوئی جمعہ کے دن روزہ نہ رکھے، إلا یہ کہ وہ اس سے پہلے یا اس کے بعد بھی روزہ رکھے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابوہریرہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں علی، جابر، جنادہ ازدی، جویریہ، انس اور عبداللہ بن عمرو بن العاص رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳- اہل علم کا اسی پر عمل ہے۔ یہ لوگ آدمی کے لیے مکروہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ وہ جمعہ کے دن کو روزہ کے لیے مخصوص کر لے، نہ اس سے پہلے روزہ رکھے اور نہ اس کے بعد۔ احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ بھی یہی کہتے ہیں۔

English Translation

Abu Hurairah narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: None of you should fast on Friday unless he fasts before it, or he fasts after it.
