Narrated `Abdullah bin Mas`ud: I offered (only a) two rak`at prayer with the Prophet (at Mina), and similarly with Abu Bakr and with `Umar, and then you d offered in opinions. Wish that I would be lucky enough to have two of the four rak`at accepted (by Allah).

حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَمَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَمَعَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ تَفَرَّقَتْ بِكُمُ الطُّرُقُ فَيَا لَيْتَ حَظِّي مِنْ أَرْبَعٍ رَكْعَتَانِ مُتَقَبَّلَتَانِ .

ہم سے قبیصہ بن عقبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے سفیان ثوری نے، ان سے اعمش نے، ان سے ابراہیم نخعی نے، ان سے عبدالرحمٰن بن یزید نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیاکہ   میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ منیٰ میں دو رکعت نماز پڑھی اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ بھی دو ہی رکعت پڑھی اور عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ بھی دو ہی رکعت، لیکن پھر ان کے بعد تم میں اختلاف ہو گیا تو کاش ان چار رکعتوں کے بدلے مجھ کو دو رکعات ہی نصیب ہوتیں جو ( اللہ کے ہاں ) قبول ہو جائیں۔
