Narrated Muhammad bin Abu Bakr Al-Thaqafi: I asked Anas bin Malik while we were proceeding from Mina to `Arafat, What do you use to do on this day when you were with Allah's Apostle ? Anas said, Some of us used to recite Talbiya and nobody objected to that, and others used to recite Takbir and nobody objected to that.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ وَهُمَا غَادِيَانِ مِنْ مِنًى إِلَى عَرَفَةَ ، كَيْفَ كُنْتُمْ تَصْنَعُونَ فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ , فَقَالَ : كَانَ يُهِلُّ مِنَّا الْمُهِلُّ فَلَا يُنْكِرُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَيُكَبِّرُ مِنَّا الْمُكَبِّرُ فَلَا يُنْكِرُ عَلَيْهِ .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم کو امام مالک نے محمد بن ابی بکر ثقفی سے خبر دی کہ انہوں نے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا۔ جب کہ   وہ دونوں صبح کو منیٰ سے عرفات جا رہے تھے۔ کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ آپ لوگ آج کے دن کس طرح کرتے تھے؟ انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے بتلایا: کوئی ہم میں سے لبیک پکارتا ہوتا، اس پر کوئی اعتراض نہ کرتا اور کوئی تکبیر کہتا، اس پر کوئی انکار نہ کرتا ( اس حدیث سے معلوم ہوا کہ حاجی کو اختیار ہے لبیک پکارتا رہے یا تکبیر کہتا رہے ) ۔
