Baab Shikar Ke Badle Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَامٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَزَارِيُّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى شَيْخًا يُهَادَى بَيْنَ ابْنَيْهِ ، قَالَ : مَا بَالُ هَذَا ؟ قَالُوا : نَذَرَ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَنْ تَعْذِيبِ هَذَا نَفْسَهُ لَغَنِيٌّ ، وَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَرْكَبَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے محمد بن سلام نے بیان کیا، کہا ہمیں مروان فزاری نے خبر دی، انہیں حمید طویل نے، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ مجھ سے ثابت نے بیان کیا اور ان سے انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک بوڑھے شخص کو دیکھا جو اپنے دو بیٹوں کا سہارا لیے چل رہا ہے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا ان صاحب کا کیا حال ہے؟ لوگوں نے بتایا کہ انہوں نے کعبہ کو پیدل چلنے کی منت مانی ہے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ اس سے بےنیاز ہے کہ یہ اپنے کو تکلیف میں ڈالیں پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں سوار ہونے کا حکم دیا۔

English Translation

Narrated Anas: The Prophet saw an old man walking, supported by his two sons, and asked about him. The people informed him that he had vowed to go on foot (to the Ka`ba). He said, Allah is not in need of this old man's torturing himself, and ordered him to ride.
