Sahih Bukhari 1934

Narrated Humran: I saw `Uthman performing ablution; he washed his hands thrice, rinsed his mouth and then washed his nose, by putting water in it and then blowing it out, and washed his face thrice, and then washed his right forearm up to the elbow thrice, and then the left-forearm up to the elbow thrice, then smeared his head with water, washed his right foot thrice, and then his left foot thrice and said, I saw Allah's Apostle performing ablution similar to my present ablution, and then he said, 'Whoever performs ablution like my present ablution and then offers two rak`at in which he does not think of worldly things, all his previous sins will be forgiven.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ حُمْرَانَ : رَأَيْتُ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَفْرَغَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ تَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْثَرَ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى إِلَى الْمَرْفِقِ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى إِلَى الْمَرْفِقِ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ الْيُسْرَى ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمّ قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ نَحْوَ وَضُوئِي هَذَا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوئِي هَذَا ، ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، لَا يُحَدِّثُ نَفْسَهُ فِيهِمَا بِشَيْءٍ ، إِلَّا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ .

ہم سے عبدان نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم کو عبداللہ بن مبارک نے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا ہم کو معمر نے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے زہری نے بیان کیا، ان سے عطاء بن زید نے، ان سے حمران نے   انہوں نے عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ کو وضو کرتے دیکھا، آپ نے ( پہلے ) اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں پر تین مرتبہ پانی ڈالا پھر کلی کی اور ناک صاف کی، پھر تین مرتبہ چہرہ دھویا، پھر دایاں ہاتھ کہنی تک دھویا، پھر بایاں ہاتھ کہنی تک دھویا تین تین مرتبہ، اس کے بعد اپنے سر کا مسح کیا اور تین مرتبہ داہنا پاؤں دھویا، پھر تین مرتبہ بایاں پاؤں دھویا، آخر میں کہا کہ جس طرح میں نے وضو کیا ہے میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو بھی اسی طرح وضو کرتے دیکھا ہے، پھر آپ نے فرمایا تھا کہ جس نے میری طرح وضو کیا پھر دو رکعت نماز ( تحیۃ الوضو ) اس طرح پڑھی کہ اس نے دل میں کسی قسم کے خیالات و وساوس گزرنے نہیں دیئے تو اس کے اگلے گناہ معاف کر دیئے جائیں گے۔
