Narrated Abu Sa`id: The Prophet said, Isn't it true that a woman does not pray and does not fast on menstruating? And that is the defect (a loss) in her religion.

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدٌ ، عَنْ عِيَاضٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَلَيْسَ إِذَا حَاضَتْ لَمْ تُصَلِّ وَلَمْ تَصُمْ ، فَذَلِكَ نُقْصَانُ دِينِهَا .

ہم سے سعید بن ابی مریم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے محمد بن جعفر نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھ سے زید بن اسلم نے بیان کیا، ان سے عیاض نے اور ان سے ابوسعید رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کیا جب عورت حائضہ ہوتی ہے تو نماز اور روزے نہیں چھوڑ دیتی؟ یہی اس کے دین کا نقصان ہے۔
