Narrated Abu Usama from Hisham bin 'Urwa from Fatima: Asma bint Abi Bakr said, We broke our fast during the lifetime of the Prophet on a cloudy day and then the sun appeared. Hisham was asked, Were they ordered to fast in lieu of that day? He replied, It had to be made up for. Ma`mar said, I heard Hisham saying, I don't know whether they fasted in lieu of that day or not.

حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَتْ : أَفْطَرْنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ غَيْمٍ ، ثُمَّ طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ ، قِيلَ لِهِشَامٍ : فَأُمِرُوا بِالْقَضَاءِ ، قَالَ : لَا بُدَّ مِنْ قَضَاءٍ ، وَقَالَ مَعْمَرٌ : سَمِعْتُ هِشَامًا : لَا أَدْرِي أَقَضَوْا أَمْ لَا ؟ .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن ابی شیبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے ابواسامہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ہشام بن عروہ نے، ان سے فاطمہ بنت منذر نے اور ان سے اسماء بنت ابی بکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں بادل تھا۔ ہم نے جب افطار کر لیا تو سورج نکل آیا۔ اس پر ہشام ( راوی حدیث ) سے کہا گیا کہ پھر انہیں اس روزے کی قضاء کا حکم ہوا تھا؟ تو انہوں نے بتلایا کہ قضاء کے سوا اور چارہ کار ہی کیا تھا؟ اور معمر نے کہا کہ میں نے ہشام سے یوں سنا ”مجھے معلوم نہیں کہ ان لوگوں نے قضاء کی تھی یا نہیں۔“
