Baab Khareed O Farookht Ke Masail Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ يَبِيعَ الرَّجُلُ طَعَامًا حَتَّى يَسْتَوْفِيَهُ ، قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ : كَيْفَ ذَاكَ ؟ قَالَ : ذَاكَ دَرَاهِمُ بِدَرَاهِمَ ، وَالطَّعَامُ مُرْجَأٌ ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ : مُرْجَئُونَ مُؤَخَّرُونَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے وہیب نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن طاؤس نے، ان سے ان کے باپ نے، ان سے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے غلہ پر پوری طرح قبضہ سے پہلے اسے بیچنے سے منع فرمایا۔ طاؤس نے کہا کہ میں نے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے پوچھا کہ ایسا کیوں ہے؟ تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ یہ تو روپے کا روپوں کے بدلے بیچنا ہوا جب کہ ابھی غلہ تو میعاد ہی پر دیا جائے گا۔ ابوعبداللہ ( امام بخاری رحمہ اللہ ) نے کہا کہ «مرجئون» سے مراد «مؤخرون» یعنی مؤخر کرنا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Tawus: Ibn `Abbas said, Allah's Apostle forbade the selling of foodstuff before its measuring and transferring into one's possession. I asked Ibn `Abbas, How is that? Ibn `Abbas replied, It will be just like selling money for money, as the foodstuff has not been handed over to the first purchaser who is the present seller.
