Baab Salam Ka Bayan Main

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍرَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَالنَّاسُ يُسْلِفُونَ فِي الثَّمَرِ الْعَامَ وَالْعَامَيْنِ ، أَوْ قَالَ : عَامَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً ، شَكَّ إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، فَقَالَ : مَنْ سَلَّفَ فِي تَمْرٍ ، فَلْيُسْلِفْ فِي كَيْلٍ مَعْلُومٍ وَوَزْنٍ مَعْلُومٍ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عمرو بن زرارہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم کو اسماعیل بن علیہ نے خبر دی، انہیں ابن ابی نجیح نے خبر دی، انہیں عبداللہ بن کثیر نے، انہیں ابومنہال نے اور ان سے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مدینہ تشریف لائے تو ( مدینہ کے ) لوگ پھلوں میں ایک سال یا دو سال کے لیے بیع سلم کرتے تھے۔ یا انہوں نے یہ کہا کہ دو سال اور تین سال ( کے لیے کرتے تھے ) شک اسماعیل کو ہوا تھا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جو شخص بھی کھجور میں بیع سلم کرے، اسے مقررہ پیمانے یا مقررہ وزن کے ساتھ کرنی چاہئیے۔

English Translation

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: Allah's Apostle came to Medina and the people used to pay in advance the price of fruits to be delivered within one or two years. (The sub-narrator is in doubt whether it was one to two years or two to three years.) The Prophet said, Whoever pays money in advance for dates (to be delivered later) should pay it for known specified weight and measure (of the dates).
