Sahih Bukhari 2253 - The Book Of As-Salam

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَهُمْ يُسْلِفُونَ فِي الثِّمَارِ السَّنَتَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَ ، فَقَالَ : أَسْلِفُوا فِي الثِّمَارِ فِي كَيْلٍ مَعْلُومٍ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مَعْلُومٍ ، وَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، وَقَالَ : فِي كَيْلٍ مَعْلُومٍ وَوَزْنٍ مَعْلُومٍ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے ابونعیم نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے سفیان بن عیینہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن ابی نجیح نے، ان سے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ   جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مدینہ تشریف لائے تو لوگ پھلوں میں دو اور تین سال تک کے لیے بیع سلم کیا کرتے تھے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں ہدایت کی کہ پھلوں میں بیع سلم مقررہ پیمانے اور مقررہ مدت کے لیے کیا کرو۔ اور عبداللہ بن ولید نے کہا ہم سے سفیان بن عیینہ نے کہا، ان سے ابن ابی نجیح نے بیان کیا، اس روایت میں یوں ہے کہ ”پیمانے اور وزن کی تعیین کے ساتھ“ ( بیع سلم ہونی چاہئیے ) ۔

English Translation

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet came to Medina and the people used to pay in advance the prices of fruits to be delivered within two to three years. The Prophet said (to them), Buy fruits by paying their prices in advance on condition that the fruits are to be delivered to you according to a fixed specified measure within a fixed specified period. Ibn Najih said, ... by specified measure and specified weight.
