Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: A drink (of milk and water) was brought to Allah's Apostle while a boy was sitting on his right side and old men were sitting on his left side. He asked the boy, Will you allow me to give it to these (people)? The boy said, No, by Allah, I will not allow anyone to take my right from you. Then the Prophet put the bowl in the boy's hand.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِشَرَابٍ ، وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ غُلَامٌ ، وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ أَشْيَاخٌ ، فَقَالَ لِلْغُلَامِ : أَتَأْذَنُ لِي أَنْ أُعْطِيَ هَؤُلَاءِ ، فَقَالَ الْغُلَامُ : لَا ، وَاللَّهِ لَا أُوثِرُ بِنَصِيبِي مِنْكَ أَحَدًا فَتَلَّهُ فِي يَدِهِ .

ہم سے قتیبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے امام مالک نے ابوحازم سے، وہ سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں کچھ پینے کو لایا گیا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی دائیں طرف ایک بچہ تھا اور قوم کے بڑے لوگ بائیں طرف تھے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بچے سے فرمایا کہ کیا تمہاری طرف سے اس کی اجازت ہے کہ میں بچا ہوا پانی ان بزرگوں کو دے دوں؟ تو اس بچے نے کہا کہ نہیں قسم اللہ کی! میں آپ سے ملنے والے اپنے حصہ کا ہرگز ایثار نہیں کر سکتا۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مشروب ان کی طرف جھٹکے کے ساتھ بڑھا دیا۔
