Narrated Anas bin Malik: A Jewess brought a poisoned (cooked) sheep for the Prophet who ate from it. She was brought to the Prophet and he was asked, Shall we kill her? He said, No. I continued to see the effect of the poison on the palate of the mouth of Allah's Apostle .

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ يَهُودِيَّةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَاةٍ مَسْمُومَةٍ ، فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا ، فَجِيءَ بِهَا ، فَقِيلَ : أَلَا نَقْتُلُهَا ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، فَمَا زِلْتُ أَعْرِفُهَا فِي لَهَوَاتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن عبدالوہاب نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے خالد بن حارث نے بیان کیا، ان سے شعبہ نے، ان سے ہشام بن زید نے اور ان سے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   ایک یہودی عورت نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں زہر ملا ہوا بکری کا گوشت لائی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس میں سے کچھ کھایا ( لیکن فوراً ہی فرمایا کہ اس میں زہر پڑا ہوا ہے ) پھر جب اسے لایا گیا ( اور اس نے زہر ڈالنے کا اقرار بھی کر لیا ) تو کہا گیا کہ کیوں نہ اسے قتل کر دیا جائے۔ لیکن آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ نہیں۔ اس زہر کا اثر میں نے ہمیشہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے تالو میں محسوس کیا۔
