Baab Gawahon Ke Mutaliq Masail Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ كَاذِبًا لِيَقْتَطِعَ مَالَ رَجُلٍ أَوْ قَالَ أَخِيهِ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ ، وَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تَصْدِيقَ ذَلِكَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلا سورة آل عمران آية 77 . فَلَقِيَنِي الْأَشْعَثُ ، فَقَالَ : مَا حَدَّثَكُمْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الْيَوْمَ قُلْتُ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، قَالَ : فِيَّ أُنْزِلَتْ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے بشر بن خالد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے محمد بن جعفر نے بیان کیا شعبہ سے، ان سے سلیمان نے، ان سے ابووائل نے اور ان سے عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا جو شخص جھوٹی قسم اس لیے کھائے کہ اس کے ذریعہ کسی کا مال لے سکے، یا انہوں نے یوں بیان کیا کہ اپنے بھائی کا مال لے سکے تو وہ اللہ تعالیٰ سے اس حال میں ملے گا کہ وہ اس پر غضب ناک ہو گا۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے اسی کی تصدیق میں یہ آیت نازل فرمائی کہ «إن الذين يشترون بعهد الله وأيمانهم ثمنا قليلا‏» ”جو لوگ اللہ کے عہد اور اپنی ( جھوٹی ) قسموں کے ذریعہ معمولی پونجی حاصل کرتے ہیں۔“ الخ پھر مجھ سے اشعث رضی اللہ عنہ کی ملاقات ہوئی تو انہوں نے پوچھا کہ عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے آج تم لوگوں سے کیا حدیث بیان کی تھی۔ میں نے ان سے بیان کر دی تو آپ نے فرمایا کہ یہ آیت میرے ہی واقعے کے سلسلے میں نازل ہوئی تھی۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Wail from `Abdullah: The Prophet said, Whoever takes a false oath in order to grab another man's (or his brother's) property, then Allah will be angry with him when he will meet him. Then Allah confirmed this by revealing the Divine Verse: Verily! Those who purchase a little gain at the cost of Allah's Covenant and their oaths . . . Will get painful punishment. (3.77) Al-Ash'ath met me and asked, What did `Abdullah tell you today? I said, So and so. He said, The Verse was revealed regarding my case.
