Sahih Bukhari 2979 - The Book Of Jihad (Fighting For Allah’S Cause)

Baab Jihad Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، وَحَدَّثَتْنِي أَيْضًا فَاطِمَةُ ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : صَنَعْتُ سُفْرَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ حِينَ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُهَاجِرَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، قَالَتْ : فَلَمْ نَجِدْ لِسُفْرَتِهِ وَلَا لِسِقَائِهِ مَا نَرْبِطُهُمَا بِهِ ، فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي بَكْرٍ : وَاللَّهِ مَا أَجِدُ شَيْئًا أَرْبِطُ بِهِ إِلَّا نِطَاقِي ، قَالَ : فَشُقِّيهِ بِاثْنَيْنِ فَارْبِطِيهِ بِوَاحِدٍ السِّقَاءَ وَبِالْآخَرِ السُّفْرَةَ فَفَعَلْتُ ، فَلِذَلِكَ سُمِّيَتْ ذَاتَ النِّطَاقَيْنِ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عبید بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے ابواسامہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ہشام نے بیان کیا کہ مجھے میرے والد نے خبر دی، نیز مجھ سے فاطمہ نے بھی بیان کیا، اور ان سے اسماء بنت ابی بکر رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ   جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مدینہ کی ہجرت کا ارادہ کیا تو میں نے ( والد ماجد سیدنا ) ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کے گھر آپ کے لیے سفر کا ناشتہ تیار کیا تھا۔ انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ جب آپ کے ناشتے اور پانی کو باندھنے کے لیے کوئی چیز نہیں ملی، تو میں نے ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا کہ بجز میرے کمر بند کے اور کوئی چیز اسے باندھنے کے لیے نہیں ہے۔ تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ پھر اسی کے دو ٹکڑے کر لو۔ ایک سے ناشتہ باندھ دینا اور دوسرے سے پانی، چنانچہ اس نے ایسا ہی کیا، اور اسی وجہ سے میرا نام ”ذات النطاقین“ ( دو کمر بندوں والی ) پڑ گیا۔

English Translation

Narrated Asma: I prepared the journey-food for Allah's Apostle in Abu Bakr's house when he intended to emigrate to Medina. I could not find anything to tie the food-container and the water skin with. So, I said to Abu Bakr, By Allah, I do not find anything to tie (these things) with except my waist belt. He said, Cut it into two pieces and tie the water-skin with one piece and the food-container with the other (the subnarrator added, She did accordingly and that was the reason for calling her Dhatun-Nitaqain (i.e. twobelted woman)).
