Baab Jihad Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ هُوَ ابْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ بَنُو قُرَيْظَةَ عَلَى حُكْمِ سَعْدٍ هُوَ ابْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَانَ قَرِيبًا مِنْهُ فَجَاءَ عَلَى حِمَارٍ فَلَمَّا دَنَا ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قُومُوا إِلَى سَيِّدِكُمْ فَجَاءَ فَجَلَسَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : لَهُ إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ نَزَلُوا عَلَى حُكْمِكَ ، قَالَ : فَإِنِّي أَحْكُمُ أَنْ تُقْتَلَ الْمُقَاتِلَةُ وَأَنْ تُسْبَى الذُّرِّيَّةُ ، قَالَ : لَقَدْ حَكَمْتَ فِيهِمْ بِحُكْمِ الْمَلِكِ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے سلیمان بن حرب نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے سعد بن ابراہیم نے ‘ ان سے ابوامامہ نے ‘ جو سہل بن حنیف کے لڑکے تھے کہ   ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا جب بنو قریظہ سعد بن معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ کی ثالثی کی شرط پر ہتھیار ڈال کر قلعہ سے اتر آئے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں ( سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کو ) بلایا۔ آپ وہیں قریب ہی ایک جگہ ٹھہرے ہوئے تھے ( کیونکہ زخمی تھے ) سعد رضی اللہ عنہ گدھے پر سوار ہو کر آئے ‘ جب وہ آپ کے قریب پہنچے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ‘ اپنے سردار کی طرف کھڑے ہو جاؤ ( اور ان کو سواری سے اتارو ) آخر آپ اتر کر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے قریب آ کر بیٹھ گئے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ان لوگوں ( بنو قریظہ کے یہودی ) نے آپ کی ثالثی کی شرط پر ہتھیار ڈال دیئے ہیں۔ ( اس لیے آپ ان کا فیصلہ کر دیں ) انہوں نے کہا کہ پھر میرا فیصلہ یہ ہے کہ ان میں جتنے آدمی لڑنے والے ہیں ‘ انہیں قتل کر دیا جائے ‘ اور ان کی عورتوں اور بچوں کو غلام بنا لیا جائے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا تو نے اللہ تعالیٰ کے حکم کے مطابق فیصلہ کیا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: When the tribe of Bani Quraiza was ready to accept Sa`d's judgment, Allah's Apostle sent for Sa`d who was near to him. Sa`d came, riding a donkey and when he came near, Allah's Apostle said (to the Ansar), Stand up for your leader. Then Sa`d came and sat beside Allah's Apostle who said to him. These people are ready to accept your judgment. Sa`d said, I give the judgment that their warriors should be killed and their children and women should be taken as prisoners. The Prophet then remarked, O Sa`d! You have judged amongst them with (or similar to) the judgment of the King Allah.
