حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّعُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ أَجْلَى الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى مِنْ أَرْضِ الْحِجَازِ ، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَمَّا ظَهَرَ عَلَى أَهْلِ خَيْبَرَ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُخْرِجَ الْيَهُودَ مِنْهَا وَكَانَتِ الْأَرْضُ لَمَّا ظَهَرَ عَلَيْهَا لِلْيَهُودِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِلْمُسْلِمِينَ ، فَسَأَلَ الْيَهُودُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَتْرُكَهُمْ عَلَى أَنْ يَكْفُوا الْعَمَلَ وَلَهُمْ نِصْفُ الثَّمَرِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : نُقِرُّكُمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ مَا شِئْنَا فَأُقِرُّوا حَتَّى أَجْلَاهُمْ عُمَرُ فِي إِمَارَتِهِ إِلَى تَيْمَاءَ وأَرِيحَا .

Urdu Translation

مجھ سے احمد بن مقدام نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے فضل بن سلیمان نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے موسیٰ بن عقبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھے نافع نے خبر دی، انہیں عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ   عمر نے یہود و نصاریٰ کو سر زمین حجاز سے نکال کر دوسری جگہ بسا دیا تھا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے جب خیبر فتح کیا تو آپ کا بھی ارادہ ہوا تھا کہ یہودیوں کو یہاں سے نکال دیا جائے۔ جب آپ نے فتح پائی تو اس وقت وہاں کی کچھ زمین یہودیوں کے قبضے میں ہی تھی۔ اور اکثر زمین پیغمبر علیہ السلام اور مسلمانوں کے قبضے میں تھی۔ لیکن پھر یہودیوں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے درخواست کی، آپ زمین انہیں کے پاس رہنے دیں۔ وہ ( کھیتوں اور باغوں میں ) کام کیا کریں گے۔ اور آدھی پیداوار لیں گے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”اچھا جب تک ہم چاہیں گے اس وقت تک کے لیے تمہیں اس شرط پر یہاں رہنے دیں گے۔ چنانچہ یہ لوگ وہیں رہے اور پھر عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے انہیں اپنے دور خلافت میں ( مسلمانوں کے خلاف ان کے فتنوں اور سازشوں کی وجہ سے یہود خیبر کو ) تیماء یا اریحا کی طرف نکال دیا تھا۔“

English Translation

Narrated Ibn `Umar: `Umar bin Al-Khattab expelled all the Jews and Christians from the land of Hijaz. Allah's Apostle after conquering Khaibar, thought of expelling the Jews from the land which, after he conquered it belonged to Allah, Allah's Apostle and the Muslims. But the Jews requested Allah's Apostle to leave them there on the condition that they would do the labor and get half of the fruits (the land would yield). Allah's Apostle said, We shall keep you on these terms as long as we wish. Thus they stayed till the time of `Umar's Caliphate when he expelled them to Taima and Ariha.
