حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ خُصَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي السَّائِبُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ سَمِعَ سُفْيَانَ بْنَ أَبِي زُهَيْرٍ الشَّنَئِيَّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ زَرْعًا وَلَا ضَرْعًا نَقَصَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطٌ ، فَقَالَ : السَّائِبُ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : إِي وَرَبِّ هَذِهِ الْقِبْلَةِ .
ہم سے عبداللہ بن مسلمہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے سلیمان نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھے یزید بن خصیفہ نے خبر دی، کہا کہ مجھے سائب بن یزید نے خبر دی، انہوں نے سفیان بن ابی زہیر شنوی رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”جس نے کوئی کتا پالا، نہ تو پالنے والے کا مقصد کھیت کی حفاظت ہے اور نہ مویشیوں کی، تو روزانہ اس کے نیک عمل میں سے ایک قیراط ( ثواب ) کی کمی ہو جاتی ہے۔“ سائب نے پوچھا، کیا تم نے خود یہ حدیث رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنی تھی؟ انہوں نے کہا، ہاں! اس قبلہ کے رب کی قسم ( میں نے خود اس حدیث کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے ) ۔
Narrated Sufyan bin Abi Zuhair Ash-Shani: That he heard Allah's Apostle saying, If somebody keeps a dog that is neither used for farm work nor for guarding the livestock, he will lose one Qirat (of the reward) of his good deeds everyday.
