Baab Anbiya Alaih Salam Ke Bayan Main

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ ، قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ ، فَهَلْ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ الْغَسْلُ إِذَا احْتَلَمَتْ ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ إِذَا رَأَتِ الْمَاءَ فَضَحِكَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ ، فَقَالَتْ : تَحْتَلِمُ الْمَرْأَةُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَبِمَ يُشْبِهُ الْوَلَدُ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے یحییٰ قطان نے بیان کیا، ان سے ہشام بن عروہ نے، ان سے ان کے باپ نے، ان سے زینب بنت ابی سلمہ نے، ان سے (ام المؤمنین) ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ   ام سلیم رضی اللہ عنہا نے عرض کیا، یا رسول اللہ! اللہ تعالیٰ حق بات سے نہیں شرماتا، تو کیا اگر عورت کو احتلام ہو تو اس پر بھی غسل ہو گا؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”ہاں بشرطیکہ وہ تری دیکھ لے۔“ ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کو اس بات پر ہنسی آ گئی اور فرمانے لگیں، کیا عورت کو بھی احتلام ہوتا ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ” ( اگر ایسا نہیں ہے ) تو پھر بچے میں ( ماں کی ) مشابہت کہاں سے آتی ہے۔“

English Translation

Narrated Abu Salama: Um Salama said, Um Sulaim said, 'O Allah's Apostle! Allah does not refrain from saying the truth! Is it obligatory for a woman to take a bath after she gets nocturnal discharge?' He said, 'Yes, if she notices the water (i.e. discharge).' Um Salama smiled and said, 'Does a woman get discharge?' Allah's Apostle said. 'Then why does a child resemble (its mother)?
