Baab Nabi Saw Ke Ashaab Ki Fazeelat

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ قَوْمٌ تَسْبِقُ شَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ يَمِينَهُ وَيَمِينُهُ شَهَادَتَهُ ، قَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ : وَكَانُوا يَضْرِبُونَنَا عَلَى الشَّهَادَةِ وَالْعَهْدِ وَنَحْنُ صِغَارٌ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے محمد بن کثیر نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے سفیان ثوری نے بیان کیا، ان سے منصور نے، ان سے ابراہیم نے، ان سے عبیدہ بن قیس سلمانی نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ بہترین زمانہ میرا ہے۔ پھر ان لوگوں کا جو اس زمانہ کے بعد آئیں گے پھر ان لوگوں کا جو اس کے بعد آئیں گے۔ اس کے بعد ایک ایسی قوم پیدا ہو گی کہ گواہی دینے سے پہلے قسم ان کی زبان پر آ جایا کرے گی اور قسم کھانے سے پہلے گواہی ان کی زبان پر آ جایا کرے گی۔ ابراہیم نے بیان کیا کہ جب ہم چھوٹے تھے تو گواہی اور عہد ( کے الفاظ زبان پر لانے ) کی وجہ سے ہمارے بڑے بزرگ ہم کو مارا کرتے تھے۔

English Translation

Narrated `Abdullah: The Prophet said, The best people are those living in my generation, and then those who will follow them, and then those who will follow the latter. Then there will come some people who will bear witness before taking oaths, and take oaths before bearing witness. (Ibrahim, a sub-narrator said, They used to beat us for witnesses and covenants when we were still children. )
