حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْكُوفَةِ ، يَقُولُ : وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي وَإِنَّ عُمَرَ لَمُوثِقِي عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْلِمَ عُمَرُ وَلَوْ أَنَّ أُحُدًا ارْفَضَّ لِلَّذِي صَنَعْتُمْ بِعُثْمَانَ لَكَانَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے قتیبہ بن سعید نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے سفیان نے بیان کیا، ان سے اسماعیل نے، ان سے قیس نے بیان کیا کہ   میں نے کوفہ کی مسجد میں سعید بن زید بن عمرو بن نفیل رضی اللہ عنہ سے سنا، وہ کہہ رہے تھے کہ ایک وقت تھا جب عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اسلام لانے سے پہلے مجھے اس وجہ سے باندھ رکھا تھا کہ میں نے اسلام کیوں قبول کیا لیکن تم لوگوں نے عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ جو کچھ کیا ہے اس کی وجہ سے اگر احد پہاڑ بھی اپنی جگہ سے سرک جائے تو اسے ایسا کرنا ہی چاہئے۔

English Translation

Narrated Qais: I heard Sa`id bin Zaid bin `Amr bin Nufail saying in the mosque of Al-Kufa. By Allah, I have seen myself tied and forced by `Umar to leave Islam before `Umar himself embraced Islam. And if the mountain of Uhud could move from its place for the evil which you people have done to `Uthman, then it would have the right to move from its place.
